Well, this was satisfying. Caught this beautiful brown trout just outside Murchison New Zealand, on a river that shall remain nameless. My guide Jason McDonald, a manuka honey farmer by day, spotted this fish swimming in a deep hole and after a few miscasts by his client, took him on a small black nymph. If you're fishing in Murchison, and in need of a patient, good-humored guide, shoot Jason an email at beesinmurch@yahoo.co.nz.
Manuka honey, couldn't get enough of it. Go on a wine and honey tour if you're ever in Auckland!
ReplyDeleteOh Ben, so so beautiful. I am in love with the country already just from your wonderful photos. What an experience!
ReplyDeleteGreat action shot with the fish...you really exude Bear Grylls man vs wild in that one
